Eli McGarva started working in the construction industry at the age of 15 at a wastewater treatment plant in Windsor, CA. After graduating from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, he went to work full time at Western Water. As a northern California native, McGarva loves the rolling hills, vineyards, parks and lakes in Sonoma County, where he and his family hike, mountain bike, swim and revel in the incredible natural beauty of the region.

"I enjoy making processes as efficient as possible. Whether it is how I load the dishwasher or how I approach a project, I am always looking for a better way to do things. My favorite saying at home is “inefficient” (said like a robot) when I see something that could be done faster or easier. This mindset is a good fit for solving problems that arise both on and off the project site. There are always more efficient ways to get things done; our job is to identify and implement them."
