Objective
Demolish existing old wells stations and construct two new well pump stations in Golden Gate Park at the South Windmill site and the North Lake site. In addition connecting water pipelines installed along Chain of Lakes Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
Challenge
Work within the beautiful Golden Gate Park in San Francisco whithout affecting recreational activities, tourism and public use of the park. Only one pump station can be worked on at a time to provide the necessary water supply for the area.
Result
The project provides robust and reliable water supply for Golden Gate Park and surrounding areas. In addition the well water supply provides a back-up to the City’s main water sources.
